Assign Detailed Thermal Bridge Supplements
Shows step-by-step how to assign detailed thermal bridge supplements to building components in calculations based on SN SIA 384/2 (2020).
Before you begin
You want to assign a detailed thermal bridge supplement (length-related or point-related thermal transmission) to a component that has heat losses due to thermal bridges.
Requirement:
The component is adjacent to the exterior or an unheated room.
Navigate to:
Procedure
- In the Thermal Bridge Supplements drop-down list, select Detailed Thermal Bridge Supplements.
- Switch to the desired room in the Building Structure.
- Highlight the line below the component to which you want to assign the thermal bridge supplement and press F5.
An empty line is inserted below the line of the component to which the supplements is to be assigned.
- In the empty row, in the cell of the Abbrev. of ID column, click .
The Standard Areas dialog opens.
- Select the desired thermal bridge supplement and confirm with OK.
The selected thermal bridge supplement is assigned to the component and is displayed in the table as a subordinate component (). For horizontal and vertical supplements, the corresponding dimension (width, height) is taken from the component to which the supplement was assigned, provided that the dimension is stored.
- In the row of the thermal bridge supplement, click in the cell of the U-Value / Psi-Value column and then click .
The Psi-Value dialog opens.
- Select a previously created thermal bridge supplement defined in accordance with the standard or add a thermal bridge supplement with associated Psi or Xi value under Add variable. Tip:
You can also edit the table of Psi-values under
. - Confirm by clicking OK.
Results
A detailed thermal bridge supplement with a standard Psi or Xi value was added to the component.
If necessary, you can correct the Psi or Xi variable of the thermal bridge supplements via the cell of the ΔU(wb) / ΔPsi column without having to adjust the variable used.
