Download and Set Weather Data

Shows step-by-step how to download weather data for your project location and integrate it into your project.

Before you begin

You want to download weather data for the location of your project and use it as the basis for the cooling load calculation.

Navigate to:

Module Overview ➤ Cooling Load Dynamic ➤ Project Level ➤ Location and Climate Data (...)

Procedure

  1. Click on Download Weather Data after Location Name:

    The page https://energyplus.net/weather opens.

  2. Select the region and the country in which your project is located.
  3. Select the city closest to your project location.

    You can download the weather data in different formats.

  4. Download climate data in the file formats *.epw and *.stat. Both files are required for the cooling load calculation.
  5. In LINEAR Building, click on Load Climate Data in the Location and Climate Data dialog.

    The Windows Explorer opens.

  6. Select one of the downloaded files and click Open.

Results

The climate data is downloaded and is used as the basis for the cooling load calculation.
