Location Name

Displays the name of the location from the loaded weather data, or User-defined location if you are creating your own design day. You can manually adjust the location for the printout.

Download Weather Data: Opens the page https://energyplus.net/weather, where you can download the two required files (*.epw and *.stat) with the climate data for your project location free of charge.

Design day

Select Loaded Design Day: Uses the data from the loaded climate files to calculate the cooling load.

Load Climate Data: Opens the Windows file explorer where you can import the downloaded weather data.

Select own design day: Uses the data from the dialog User-Defined Data for a Design Day for the calculation of the cooling load.

Create design day: opens the User-Defined Data for a Design Day dialog, where the user can define the general conditions and the temperature curve for the cooling load calculation.

Diagram

Displays the air and dew point temperatures of the CDD based on the data from the loaded climate data or from the user-defined data.

Design Day Determination Period

If you have selected the loaded design day, you can choose the period in which the design day should be determined here. The resulting temperatures are taken from the loaded data. The dataset contains data for a fictitious year created from the last 30 years of weather data.

coldest/warmest: Selects the respective coldest or warmest day in the determination period, in combination with the options Month or Day.

Year: The warmest day in the warmest month of the year in the data set is used as the basis for the calculation.

Month: The coldest or warmest day of the month is used as basis for the calculation. Alternatively, you can manually select a month.

Day: The coldest or warmest day of the year in the data set is used as the basis for the calculation. Alternatively, you can select a day manually.

Max. Exceedance Frequency

Specifies how often the selected maximum temperature may be exceeded within a year or a month. This value reduces the cooling load. The default is 0.4% and is set automatically. If you have selected a specific day as the determination period, the exact temperatures of the design day apply and the exceedance frequency is not taken into account.

Options

Apply summer time- activated: The calculation takes into account the time difference due to summer time.

Info Box

The climate data of the current design day are displayed in the output window.
