Details on Technical Data for Three-way Valves
Information about the technical data dialog for three-way valves.
A mixing valve is installed to control the supply water temperature of the partial network that follows.
You are here:
Name
Specifies the name of the component. You can modify the name. Clicking restores the default setting.
Design data – Secondary side
Supply water, Return water, Pressure loss, Mass flow rate: Enter the requested supply water and return water temperatures of the mixing valve for the secondary side here. The mass flow rate resulting from it will be displayed.
Three-way control valve
The model, the pressure loss, and the authority of the neutral or assigned valve will be displayed as soon as the pipe network is calculated.
Characteristic specification. The specification of the characteristic curve is displayed in the parts list.
Dimensioning: After the calculation, the three-way valve is dimensioned by the program at first. You may specifically select kvs values from the standard series of the neutral valve as well. With respect to manufacturer-specific armatures, a manufacturer-specific kvs series is available for selection after calculation. If User-defined presetting is selected, you may enter freely the cv value and the dimension.
Select valve...: By using the Select valve... button you may select a manufacturer-specific three-way valve which you then may assign to the selected component via the Apply button. The selected valve with appertaining specific data will be displayed in the dialog after selection. The range of available valves depends on the installed manufacturer data sets.
Dimension, Authority, cv-value and Pressure loss: Enter the valve authority for this mixing valve. With this specification you may set on your own the ratio between the pressure losses of the mixing valve and the pressure losses in the volume-adaptable pipe network (primary side) including the mixing valve. The appertaining kv value will be displayed after the calculation.
The kv value and the authority are updated only after the re-calculation of the pipe network.
Reset: The Reset button resets the manually assigned armature to a neutral model.
Dimensioning data – Primary side
Supply water, Return water, Pressure loss, Mass flow rate: Here, supply water temperature, return water temperature, pressure loss, and mass flow rate of the primary side are displayed. In this respect, the supply water and return water temperatures correspond to the data in the heat or cooling generator.
The supply water and return water temperature always corresponds to the supply water and return water temperature in the heat or cooling generator of the partial network. Changes in theMixing valve dialog will be automatically taken over into the generator!
Make sure that the supply water temperature of the secondary side equals the return water temperature of the primary side!
