About Updating Software Protection Licenses of the Server
Get information about updating software protection licenses of the server.
Updating software protection licenses is identical for HASP SRM dongles and softlocks. Normally it is not necessary that you create a fingerprint (.c2v license file ) of your license server again and send it to us. You can easily request an updated .linlic license file by email or it will be sent to you automatically from licensing@linear.de. You can then use these license files to either automatically (running the .exe file) or manually (using the LINEAR Admins) update your software protection licenses.
If there are any problems with the update, it may be necessary to create a current fingerprint of your license server and send it to licensing@linear.de so that we can write a new . linlic license file for you. Another case in which it is necessary to create a current fingerprint is when the order of the .linlic license files sent to you was not followed and the previous license files are no longer available. If license files that have already been sent are not imported, no newer license files can be read until the omitted license files have been imported one after the other in the correct order. Therefore, it is important that you always import the license files received from us. With regard to softlocks, even small changes to the hardware or in the settings of the virtual environment can also lead to a softlock being blocked. In such cases, the creation of a new fingerprint is also necessary.
