Details on pipe offset

Information on the pipe offset section.

If pipes and ducts collide with each other or with a component, the pipes can be provided with a pipe offset to solve the collision. Elements from links can also be bypassed.

You are here:

Applies to: heating, potable water, waste water, ventilation, cooling, gas, fire protection.

Distance x, Distance y

Enter the desired minimum clear distances between the pipes. For insulated pipes, you can use the Consider insulation check box to control whether the distances should refer to the insulation or to the pipes.

Angle

Select the angle of the bends to be used for the pipe offset.

Use existing fittings (only round pipe)

Activated

Deactivated

If necessary, existing fittings are rotated and used for the pipe offset. This avoids additional fittings.

The distance x is not used in the above example because the fittings on both sides are also used for the pipe offset.

Additional fittings are inserted for pipe offset.

Swan necks instead of fittings (only air ducts)

Activated

Deactivated

In the case of pipe offset with air ducts, swan necks are used instead of fittings.

In the case of pipe offset with air ducts, only bends or angles are used.

Consider insulation

In the case of insulated pipes and ducts, the clear distances x and y can be related to the insulation or to the pipes.

Activated

Deactivated

In the case of pipe offset with insulated pipes, the minimum clear distances x and y refer to the insulation of pipes and ducts.

In the case of pipe offset with insulated pipes, the minimum clear distances x and y refer to the pipe or the duct. The insulation is not considered.

Offset around elements

The elements to be moved around are located in the current document.

Offset around linked elements

The elements to be moved around are located in a link.

Manual offset

In three steps, you determine yourself in which direction and with which distances the offset is to be created. For this mode we recommend a view from the side of the pipeline corridor (section view).
