Details on Building Material
Information about the material tables in the Master Tables operating range.
In the Building Materials category, you will already find some predefined building material groups, each containing a set of predefined building materials. You can either create your own building material groups or add your own building materials to the table of building materials at any point. Any installed manufacturer building materials are also listed here.
You are here:
Building material
The Building materials folder contains all available building material groups. Building material groups are sorted in ascending order. Click on a building material group shows the building materials contained in it in the Table of building materials.
Table of building materials
By clicking you have the possibility to copy the contents of the table with or without column heading and paste it into Excel.
If you have selected individual rows or cells, you can copy the selected data with the key combinations Ctrl+C (with column heading) or Ctrl+Shift+C (without column heading) and paste it into Excel, for example.
Name: Name of the currently selected building material group. You can modify the name of the building material group. A renamed building material group will be re-sorted in the Building Materials folder accordingly.
Hatching preview: When a building material is clicked, the corresponding hatching is displayed here. Click to open the Select a type of hatching dialog.
The table lists all building materials of the selected building material group. The material values of each building material can be adjusted. F5 or click in the empty line below the last entry creates a new entry.
Column | Description |
---|---|
Building material No. | Building material no. to be entered manually preinstalled building materials are numbered according to the scheme [building material group number].[consecutive index]. |
Name of the building material | Name with which this building material is to be referred to in the program. |
Thermal conductivity Lambda | The heat conductivity of a building material describes how well it conducts heat. It is required for the calculation of the U-value. |
Density | The density of a building material is used to calculate the thermal storage capacity in the dynamic cooling load calculation. |
Specific heat capacity | The specific heat capacity describes the ability of a substance to store thermal energy. This value is used to calculate the thermal storage capacity in the dynamic cooling load calculation. |
Vapor diffusion value | Defines the factor by which the building material is denser in comparison to water vapor than a static air layer with the same thickness. |
Hatching | The graphic display of the building material. Click to open the Select a type of hatching dialog. |
