View Control
Explains the concept of the view control of the LINEAR Solutions for Revit.
The view control of the LINEAR Solutions for Revit is designed to simplify the handling of views in Revit models. This requires a clear view structure, which originates from the use of the view control in the LINEAR Control Board.
In the LINEAR Controlboard all views of a project are organized according to the simple principle:
- Where = building part + storey
- What = discipline(s)
- How = floor plan, 3D, section, ...
New views are created with one click. The where/what/how information is simply taken from the previous settings in the LINEAR Control Board.
All existing views are displayed in the Suitable views section filtered by the current settings. The view that suits best is marked with a green check mark and appears at the top of the list. This way, you don't have to spend a lot of time searching for the right view. It is simply there.
Views for more than one task
Many views don't just represent a "where" or a "what". Overview floor plans, for example, show more than one building part and coordination plans show more than just one discipline. In order to control this, you only need to check the boxes in front of the disciplines. For example, a pure heating view simply becomes a mechanical coordination view by setting the check marks in front of the disciplines ventilation, potable water and waste water. As a result, this view is now available in all mechanical disciplines under Suitable view. In the basement of the main building, another suitable view would now be offered for the ventilation discipline - namely the new coordination view.
Control of view contents
In addition to the basic structuring of the views, the view control can also control the contents of the views in the simplest way. Do you, for example, want to temporarily hide the supply air in a ventilation ceiling plan so that you can clearly see the exhaust air duct underneath? You can do this by simply clicking the lamp button to the right of each discipline. Here you can hide and show everything that belongs to ventilation. Or do you want to unlock the 3. Floor in a 3D view? If so, this can also be easily done using the lamp button to the left of each storey.
