License server requirements

Please make sure that the following programs are as up-to-date as possible.

  • LINEAR Admin
  • LINEAR Installation Center
  • Software protection driver (HASP HL device driver)

Requirements for your infrastructure when using license servers

  • Enable the firewall port 1947 TCP/UDP (incoming and outgoing) on your clients, your license server and your network infrastructure.

    The Sentinel (LDK, HASP, or Local) License Manager service uses this port to communicate between client and server to retrieve licenses. Furthermore, port 1947 is required for access to the administrator side (ACC).

  • Make sure that the client or server to which the software protection is connected can reach the following page on the Internet: https://linear-monolicence.herokuapp.com/blacklist/485948944.

  • Make sure that your security programs, such as firewall and virus scanner, do not interfere with or block the communication or execution of our programs.

Accessibility of the LINEAR Software Protection Server

The license of your software is automatically verified via the Internet after 30 days at the latest. For the verification to be successful, the URLs of the software protection servers must be accessible:

Unsupported hardware and configurations

  • Our software protection does not support Apple hardware or any bootloader or VM running there.

  • No virtual servers that are moved to other hosts by load balancing are supported.

  • The use on terminal or Citrix systems is basically possible. The requirements that must be met for smooth use - especially with CAD-supported software - have to be checked in advance on the customer's side. In any case, however, a separate, dedicated license server has to be used.
