Details on the “Air Volumes” Section
ation on the Air Volumes section of the Ventilation module in LINEAR Building.
In the Air Volumes area, all rooms of the level selected in the Building Structure are displayed with their air volumes determined using the selected calculation method. You can also open the dialog to define the used calculation methods. At the project level and the ventilation zone levels, you can define default settings for the ventilation system and therefore for the ventilation systems in the rooms. By assigning the ventilation systems to the rooms, the supply and exhaust air volume flows resulting from the air volume determination are defined, if necessary, which you can transfer to your CAD program.
You are here
Calculation Method ...
Opens the Calculation Methods dialog, in which the project default settings for the calculation methods used, the calculation methods for the room types and any exceptions for rooms or room groups with regard to the calculation methods are defined.
Ventilation System (Project Specification), Ventilation System (Ventilation Zone)
Drop-down list for defining the default setting for the ventilation system. The default setting is available at project level and the levels at which the Ventilation Zone is set in the general building data ( ). When using the DIN 1946-6 Domestic Ventilation calculation method, this list is deactivated at ventilation zone level and its entry is provided with the addition From DIN 1946-6: (...), as this setting is defined in the Domestic Ventilation area of the ventilation zone levels or in the overview of the ventilation zones at project level (Domestic Ventilation Overview).
Changes to the ventilation system at project level are applied to all ventilation zones, provided the setting in the individual ventilation zones has not been changed from the default setting From Project Setting: .... Changes at ventilation zone level are applied to the ventilation systems of all rooms in the zone, provided that the room settings in the Ventilation System column have not been changed from the default From Zone: ... setting. This means that changes at project level affect the individual rooms, provided that From Project Setting: ... is set in the ventilation zones and From Zone: ... is set in the rooms.
By selecting a ventilation system, the volume flow rate resulting from the air volume calculation is transferred to the corresponding fields for the supply and exhaust air volume flows and any differences between the two flows are displayed in the corresponding column.
Table of Rooms
By clicking you have the possibility to copy the contents of the table with or without column heading and paste it into Excel.
If you have selected individual rows or cells, you can copy the selected data with the key combinations Ctrl+C (with column heading) or Ctrl+Shift+C (without column heading) and paste it into Excel, for example.
Column | Description |
---|---|
et | Defines which rooms are edited together. Tick the rows of the rooms that you want to edit together and then change the desired parameters for one of the rooms. Clicking on the column header et activates or deactivates all rows. |
Location | Shows the name and location of the room in the building structure. |
Room type | Shows the room type of the room. If necessary, you can change the room type in LINEAR Building in the section General Data for: Room ( ). |
Columns of the Calculation Methods | The required air volumes of the rooms resulting from the methods are displayed in the columns of the calculation methods. The volume flow rate of the calculation method with the highest value is always used to determine the air volume of the rooms. For better identification, the fields of the values used are highlighted in color. |
Ventilation System | Defines the ventilation system of the room. By selecting a ventilation system, the volume flow rate resulting from the air volume calculation is transferred to the corresponding fields for the supply and exhaust air volume flows and any differences between the two flows are displayed in the corresponding column. Note: This setting is also used in the Ventilation area of the Heat Load module. Adjustments made here therefore also affect the setting in the heat load area and vice versa. |
V_sup | Defines the mechanical supply air volume flow rate of the room, which you can transfer to your CAD program. Note: The Supply Air Volume Flow Rate is also used in the Ventilation section of the Heat Load module. Adjustments made here therefore also have an effect on the volume flow rate in the heat load range and vice versa. If a value for the mechanical supply air volume flow was transferred from the CAD program to LINEAR Building during building registration, the value is transferred to this field and displayed in bold. Manually adjusted values are also shown in bold. After clicking on , you can reset the volume flow rate to the calculated value. Note: Values originating from the CAD program are overwritten when resetting. If necessary, update the LINEAR Building- and CAD data again so that the values from the CAD are available again. |
V_ext | Defines the mechanical exhaust air volume flow rate of the room, which you can transfer to your CAD program. Note: The Extract Air Volume Flow Rate is also used in the Ventilation section of the Heat Load module. Adjustments made here therefore also have an effect on the volume flow rate in the heat load range and vice versa. If a value for the mechanical extract air volume flow rate was transferred from the CAD program to LINEAR Building during building detection, the value is transferred to this field and displayed in bold. Manually adjusted values are also shown in bold. After clicking on , you can reset the volume flow rate to the calculated value. Note: Values originating from the CAD program are overwritten when resetting. If necessary, update the LINEAR Building- and CAD data again so that the values from the CAD are available again. |
Diff. Actual/Target | Displays the difference between the calculated target volume flow and the actual volume flow defined by the mechanical volume flows, if applicable. |
