Details on the “Restrictions” Dialog
Information on the Restrictions dialog in the Parameter Manager.
In this dialog, you can define restrictions for the values of parameters. If restrictions are not adhered to, the parameter value field in the LINEAR Properties and Component lists is colored red.
You are here:
(Restrictions)
Unrestricted
All entries that are possible for the underlying data type are permitted. This means, for example, that you cannot enter an integer value for a text parameter.
Value range
Allows you to define a value range for the underlying data type. Enter the lower and upper limits of the value range in the two input fields and use the checkboxes to specify whether the values entered are included in the value range.
Pattern
This function is only enabled for parameters whose Unit is of type Text. It allows you to define patterns with regular expressions (regex) and thus check the entered character strings for the underlying data type. You can enter a regular expression directly in the input field, save it in the Regex dialog for further use or use one of the predefined regular expressions from the Regex dialog.
: Opens the Regex dialog, in which you can find predefined regular expressions for the definition and create additional expressions.
Value list
Allows you to define the definition of permitted values for the underlying data type. You can use value lists, for example, to restrict the nominal widths of components that can be used.
