Creating a Tank with the Tank Generator
Shows step-by-step how to configure and draw in a tank using the tank generator.
Before you begin
You want to configure and draw in a tank using the tank generator.
Navigate to:
Applies to: Heating, Cooling, Potable Water, Waste Water, Gas
Procedure
- Set the construction height, the reference edge and the offset in the LINEAR Control Board.
- Click on the Tank generator ... button.
The Tank configuration dialog opens and the Base body tab is displayed.
- On the Base body tab, adjust the specifications for the Tank type, Building type and Tank pressure according to your requirements.
- Optional: If necessary, enter a description for the tank.
- Select a material from the drop-down lists Base body material, Lid material and Bottom material.
- Enter the dimensions of the tank in the fields Nominal diameter, Height above floor [H1], Tank height [H2] and Total height [H]. Note: You can read the assignment of the respective height dimensions on the dimension sheets.
- Define the adjustable Foot type using the drop-down list and define the tank feet using the fields for the number, distance and dimension.
- Depending on where you want to create the ports on the tank body, switch to the tab Port on body, Ports on bottom or Ports on top.
- Click on the New port button to create a new port.
An entry for a port is created under Port and the right-hand area of the dialog is opened for entering data.
- Define the port by entering the data for material, flange, nominal diameter, dimensions and alignment.
When the data for the port is complete, the symbol in the field Port changes to a green check mark.
- Optional: Repeat steps 9 and 10 to generate further ports.
- Once you have finished configuring the tank, click on the Draw < button to place the tank in your drawing.
Results
You have configured and drawn in a tank and can now integrate it into the corresponding pipe network.
