Creating a Component Connection
Shows step-by-step how to create a connection on a user-defined component in order to connect a 3D pipe to it later, for example.
Before you begin
You want to create a connection on a component you have created yourself in order to connect a 3D pipe to it later, for example.
Requirements:
You have a drawing of a component that you want to provide with connections.
Navigate to:
Applies to: Heating, Cooling, Drinking Water, Waste Water, Gas, Ventilation, Electrical, Fire Protection, Fixing Planning
Procedure
- First open the drawing with the component that you want to provide with connections.
- Select a view in which the connections to be defined are visible and easily accessible, for example an isometric view.
- Set Layer 0 as the current layer.
- Click on the Create component connection < button.
- Place the component connection at the desired position. Note: When you place a component connection, the Z axis of the current coordinate system is used as the connection direction. If you want to set lateral connections, you must first rotate the coordinate system. To do this, use the command UCS.
After setting the component connection, the connection is displayed.
Results
The component connection has been set and you can now use the Edit component connection command to define the connection in more detail and specify the dimension and connection type, for example.
