Insert Reference Lines for Text Objects
Shows step-by-step how to add reference lines to text objects that point to one or more pipes (line objects).
Before you begin
You want to add a reference line to a text object that points to one or more pipes (line objects).
If a reference line is not to end on a pipe (line object) but on a free position and is to be a node at this point, you need to activate the option at Only end point.
Requirement:
The text object which should receive a reference line and the pipes to which the reference line should point are already in the drawing.

Applies to all disciplines.
Procedure
- Open the Reference line section.
- In the Diameter field, enter the diameter for the nodes or the size for the diagonal lines.
- Specify whether nodes or diagonal lines are used at the intersections of the reference line and pipes.
- Click on Reference line < to start the drawing process.
- Click on the text to be provided with the reference line on the side from which the reference line is to start.
- Click to set the end point of the reference line. Note: If you label lines, the end point should be on a line, otherwise no node or diagonal line will be created there.
With the Node at reference line option, the intersection points are first marked and Add/remove points is displayed in the command line.
With the Diagonal line at reference line option, the intersection points are directly provided with diagonal lines.
- Click to remove any marked intersections so that these points do not receive any nodes. You can mark unmarked points by clicking on them so that these points receive a node.
- Confirm the selection of intersection points by right-clicking or pressing Enter.
