Details on Technical Data for Circulation Pumps

Information on the technical data dialog for circulation pumps.

As soon as the pump is inserted into a circulation pipe, the program automatically identifies the component as a circulation pump. Depending on the program version, you can select from neutral and manufacturer pumps, provided that a suitable data set is installed. The set data are saved in the drawing.

Name

Specifies the name of the component. You can modify the name. Clicking restores the default setting.

Neutral circulation pump

Calculate delivery head: The program automatically determines the necessary delivery head. If you prefer to enter the relevant value manually, set the Calculate delivery height option inactive.

Delivery height, Flow rate: Here you may enter the delivery head value of the pump in meters. The volume flow rate is the result of either the peak volume flow rates or, with regard to circulation calculations, the volume flow rate as a function of the instances of heat loss. Delivery head and flow rate are also shown in printouts.

Manufacturer HW circulation pump

Catalog Select a circulation pump from the manufacturer’s catalog. This option is not available in all program versions. Further, the availability of manufacturers and pumps in the catalog depends on the product data installed on your system.

Reset: You may use this button to reset the values to a neutral circulation pump.

Predefine characteristic curve: If the pump has a characteristic curve, you can specify the settings yourself or let the program do the dimensioning. If the option predefine characteristic curve is activated, you have the option to change the characteristic curve by using the slider. Depending on availability, you can instantiate constant pressure cl.-loop control or proportional pressure control. The setting of the slider is mirrored in the input field delivery head.

In the input field delivery head you may enter the delivery head manually. If you enter the delivery head manually, the volume flow rate of the system remains equal and all valves are set such that they create a higher pressure loss to achieve equal flow rates.

Predefine characteristic curve: If several characteristic curves are available for a pump, you may select a particular curve when the predefine characteristic curve checkbox is set active. Else, the program will select the most favorable characteristic curve.

Pumps and Network characteristic curve

The displayed diagram will feature the pump and the network characteristic curve.
