Reports dialog Linear Revit

Overview

The reports are structured by errors, warnings and notes, which may also be sorted according to their reference to the respective system. The Reports ... button in the calculation dialog is colored differently depending on the type of report that occurred during the calculation. If there are only notes, the button is blue. If at least one warning has occurred, it is yellow and red for errors.

If you select a report, a detailed explanation of the cause of the error is displayed at the bottom of the dialog. Suggestions for possible corrections and further information may also be displayed. Selecting an entry activates the Show command and, if applicable, the functions Calculation Dialog and Ignore.

Detailed Report Description

Displays detailed information on the selected report. If possible, a suggestion for solving the error is displayed. If the error is caused by a particular component, the component number and, if applicable, the pipe section or flow path number are displayed.

Tip:

If locating the source of the error via Show is not sufficient, you can use the Find command from the calculation dialog in the drawing to locate the component, section or flow path. Enter the component, section or flow path number in the text field next to the Search button and then click on Find.

Filter

Various filter options are available via the Filter button.

Only Display Messages for the Object: Is enabled when a report for an object is selected and enables all reports for this object to be displayed.

Hide Systems: Hides the names of the assets and removes the sorting of the reports by asset affiliation.

Hide Ignored Reports

Enabled: Ignored reports and report groups are moved to a separate group Ignored Reports.

Disabled: Ignored messages and report groups are not moved to a separate group.

Show

Shows the component or the area in the model to which the report refers. These can be flow paths, sections or components. Press Esc or right-click to return to the Reports dialog.

Calculation Dialog

Is only activated if the selected message relates to an element that is listed in the tables of the calculation dialog (individual components, pipe sections and flow paths). Click to open the calculation dialog again and select the corresponding element.

Text File...

Creates a text file with all detailed report descriptions. You can edit and save the text file.

Ignore, Reset

You can ignore warnings and notes if required. This is possible for individual reports and entire report groups. The icons of the ignored entries are then grayed out. If the option Hide Ignored Reports under Filter is activated, the ignored entries are also moved to the separate Ignored Reports group. Selecting ignored entries activates the Reset button, which you can use to undo the ignoring.
