Detecting Building

Shows step-by-step how to prepare your model in order to detect it and how to have it detected by LINEAR Building.

Before you begin

You want to prepare your model and detect it with LINEAR Building.

Requirements:

You have configured the synchronization settings in the dialog Configuration in LINEAR Building to your needs.

Navigate to:

Project tabArchitecture disciplineAnalyse tab

Analyse tab architecture Linear Revit

Procedure

  1. Open the Building detection section.
    Building detection Linear Revit
  2. Select an option for the Ground Approximation.
  3. Select the reference level of the ground level.

    This option only applies if you have selected constant ground level for ground approximation.

  4. Select an option for ground Curtain wall detection.
  5. Optional: Under Model Filter, activate the Restrict to active view option if only the elements currently visible in the model are to be taken into account for building detection in LINEAR Building.
  6. Optional: Under Diagnosis, activate the option Save component information if LINEAR Building shall display component segments instead of complete components in the Revit model.
  7. Click Building detection....

    LINEAR Building opens.

  8. Click on LINEAR Building to Start with you CAD model.

    The Select template dialog opens.

  9. Select a template.

    The template files contain country-specific data such as locations, temperatures, variables and room templates.

    LINEAR Building analyzes the building structure. The dialog Building data opens.

  10. Enter all project data and confirm your entry with OK.

Results

The building has been detected and is available for further analysis.
