Checking and Completing General Building Data

Shows step-by-step how to control and complete general building data.

Before you begin

You would like to review the fundamental building data for your project and complete it if necessary.

Navigate to:

Note:

When you enter a building, the Building Data dialog opens. The most important information for the load calculation is transferred with the data entry. If necessary, you can adjust the building data after entering them in the Building Data dialog or in the area of the same name on the General tab.

Procedure

  1. If necessary, select the correct Building Type for your project from the building type drop-down list.
  2. From the Ventilation Zone and Building Unit drop-down lists, we select the structural levels for which we would like to define the ventilation zone and building unit.
  3. From the Ventilation Zone drop-down list, select the structure level for which you want to define the ventilation zone.
  4. Check the entered values in the Geometry area.

The existing values are transferred from the CAD- model during building detection. For the heat load calculation, the building area is the only information needed. Length and width can be entered manually if the building area is not available or should be corrected. Click to calculate the building area with the entered values.

  5. Check the detected values for ground-adjoining enveloping surfaces in the area Ground-Adjoining Floor of all Heated Rooms and correct them if necessary.

The area and perimeter are needed for the heat load calculation. If these values are not available, both can be entered manually.

  6. If necessary, check and correct the values for Groundwater Depth and Depth of Floor Slab.

Results

All building data are entered correctly.
