Details on “Air Pollution Proc. 2” (Room Level)

Information on the Air Pollution Method 2 section of the Ventilation module in LINEAR Building.

In this area, you define the room-specific settings for determining the required air volumes for rooms in non-residential buildings based on the calculation method DIN EN 16798-1 Air Pollution, Procedure 2.

General Room Data

The room number, the room name and the room temperature are displayed, which you can adjust as required. The Exterior and Interior fields show the exterior or interior clear dimensions of the room. You can adjust the dimensions in the Room Data dialog.

: Opens the Room Data dialog in which you can adjust the parameters of the room.

General

Category: Drop-down list for selecting the category of expectations for the quality of the indoor climate in accordance with DIN EN 15251. The higher the expectations, the greater the specific volume flow rates required to ensure the desired indoor climate quality. If the category was taken from the global default settings at project level, it is flagged with From Project Setting:.

Ventilation Efficiency

Determines the ventilation efficiency of the air conduction system. This parameter provides information on the efficiency of material load dissipation.

Contaminations for Procedure 2

In this table, you define the contaminants in the room. Click in an empty row or press F5 to add more contaminants. After defining the limit value for the material, the emission of the material and the concentration of the material in the supply air, the outdoor air flow rate required to comply with the limit value is displayed in the Q_h column. Press F6 to delete entries from the table. The mandatory CO2 entry cannot be deleted.

By clicking you have the possibility to copy the contents of the table with or without column heading and paste it into Excel.

If you have selected individual rows or cells, you can copy the selected data with the key combinations Ctrl+C (with column heading) or Ctrl+Shift+C (without column heading) and paste it into Excel, for example.

Column Name
Name

Defines the name of the material.

: Opens a context menu with a selection of names of common contaminants.

C_h_i Defines the limit value for the concentration of the material in the room.
G_h Determines the emission of the material.
C_h_o Determines the concentration of the material in the supply air.
Q_h Displays the outdoor air volume flow rate required to comply with the limit value.
