About General Heat Load Data

Explains the concept of general heat load data in the context of heat load calculations.

In the General heat load data section you enter basic settings for calculating the heat load of your building. All settings made here are valid for your entire project. Some settings, such as the ventilation system, can be modified in the respective structural level (building unit, ventilation zone, room) deviating from the values set here.

You start with the selection of the calculation method and the input of building and climate data. If the supplied location and climate data does not meet the requirements of your project or if there is no data for the project location, you can edit the supplied data or create your own dataset with location and climate data, e.g. for a country or a region. In the next step, you define the shielding class, the building mass and the ventilation system. With regard to thermal bridge supplements for building components, you can choose between the global method and the detailed method with exact length- and point-related coefficient of heat transmission. Depending on the selected standard, you can also define minimum temperatures for unheated building units and heat transfer systems.
