About Storeys
Explains the concept of storeys.
A storey is a level with the Building storey property. The height of a storey is defined by the position of the storey level above it.
The choice of the storey fulfills the following tasks:
- Control of the storey in the Construction level / offset (+/-) section in the Construction tab
- Providing the appropriate views in the Project tab for floor plans and sections.
- If there is a suitable view for floor plans and sections, this is used as the current view (if the Activate the most suitable view option is enabled under ).
The storeys should be at the same level as the unfinished floor. Within a storey there may be additional auxiliary levels that define further important heights for the construction, e.g. the upper edge of the finished floor (UEFF) or the bottom edge of the ceiling (BEC). If you want to construct air handling units and ducts on a flat roof or if the last storey should also have a height, you can also define the roof as a storey level.
If you have linked your project to an architectural model, you can import the levels it contains into the current project using the Storeys dialog.
If different storey heights occur in different parts of the Revit model, create different building parts. Different storey levels can be assigned to each building part. If you have already imported the storeys of the linked project and the storey heights have changed, you can synchronize them with the same function.
