Simulating an Ejection Process

Shows step-by-step how to determine for hot water consumers after which time hot water is discharged at a specified test temperature.

Before you begin

To comply with hygiene requirements, you want to randomly check the time required to reach a specified test temperature.

Requirement:

In the settings, the option Calculate discharge time is activated and the method is set to User defined.

Note:

If it is clear that a certain method is to be used as a basis, the corresponding method can be selected in the drop-down list for method selection. If you select User-defined, you can set the test temperature and test time to user-defined in the settings as well as in the dialog for simulation.

Navigate to:

Project tabDisciplines ...Potable waterAnalyse tabCalculation ...

Applies to: Potable water.

Procedure

  1. Click on Ejection process.

The calculation dialog is hidden and instructions on how to proceed are displayed.

  2. Click to select a corresponding hot water consumer.
The dialog Temporal temperature profile (hot water) opens.
  3. Check the Testing period and Test temperature and adjust the values if necessary.
  4. Click on Simulate.
    The discharge process is simulated.
  5. Check the determined values under the graphic. If necessary, adjust the pipe length and/or dimension of the respective pipe(s) in the model to obtain the desired values.

Results

You have randomly checked discharge processes of hot water consumers and confirmed compliance with hygiene requirements.
