Setting Basic Conditions
Shows step-by-step how to set the basic conditions for the calculation.
Before you begin
You want to set the basic conditions in connection with hydraulic balancing before the calculation.
Navigate to:
Applies to: Heating and Cooling.
Procedure
- Click Basic conditions.
The dialog Pipe Basic conditions opens.
- In the section Dimensioning, decide whether the design is to be carried out using only the pipe friction pressure gradient or also taking into account the maximum velocity.
- Check and, if necessary, correct the values for maximum velocities if the maximum velocity is to be taken into account in the design.
- Enter a percentage value for Global pressure loss for fittings and joining pieces if the zeta values of the designed fittings are not to be used in the model.
- In the section Hydraulic balancing, decide whether a hydraulic balancing should be carried out after the calculation. The following steps are relevant if hydraulic balancing is enabled or minimum pressure drops are to be preset.
- In the section Thermostatic valves - Properties and dimensioning area, decide whether thermostatic valves in the project are to be designed according to real or conventional valve authority. Enter the corresponding limit values.
- Define minimum pressure losses for regulating valves and differential pressure regulators.
Results
The basic conditions for the calculation are set.
