About the Use of Key Lists in Zoning

Explains the concept of using Revit key lists in zoning.

In Zoning, you have the option of grouping Spaces by different zone types. The respective zone types are based on parameters, e.g. the parameter for the building section. Instead of individual parameters, you can also use keys for zoning. You can use key lists to assign several parameters to a key. By changing a key for a space, you make direct changes to the value of the stored parameters and thus avoid having to change individual parameters manually. Furthermore, by changing a row in a usage profile, you can change the parameters of all the spaces associated with it.

Application

To use keys for zoning, you need to create corresponding key lists in Revit which two or more parameters are assigned to respective keys. The key then becomes available in the Zoning as a zone type of the type Key. If you select this zone type, you can assign the spaces in the zoning to these keys.
