Cooling load solar protection Linear Building

Global

Enabled: The program accepts the values for the type of shading Bs, the shading factor Fs and the solar protection Fc for all exterior windows. In the Room view, these fields are then deactivated for the individual windows and cannot be changed. If, in the Room view, you have already entered different information for the individual windows’ values of Shading type Bs, Shading factor Fs and Solar protection Fc, this data is saved if you activate the Global option. With exterior windows, the global settings are then shown and used for the calculation. If you delete the checkmark again, the program shows the original data in Room view. In this way, toggling between the global and room-related consideration is possible at any time without data loss.

Disabled: Shading type Bs, Shading factor Fs and Solar protection Fc can be set individually for each exterior window.

Shading type

Sets the type of shading for the window.

Selection

Description

K='No Shading'

There is no shading. The values of the side projection dimension d, the top projection dimension c, the frame width b', the frame height f' and the shading factor Fs are not considered during the cooling load calculation for the windows.

F = 'Fixed value for shading (Fs)'

Over the course of the day, there is uniform shading without moving shadows. You can enter a value between 0 and 1. The smaller the value, the less solar radiation penetrates to the interior of the building through the window. If you enter the value 1, the radiation is not attenuated. The values of the side projection dimension d, the top projection dimension c, the frame width b’ and the frame height f' are not considered during the cooling load calculation for the windows.

B = 'Calculated shading over 24 hours'

There is a change of shading over the course of the day. The change of shading of the windows is calculated via the values of the projections (side projection dimension d, top projection dimension c, width of the frame b', height of the frame f').

Shading factor

Defines the shading factor if you selected as shading type the setting F = 'Fixed value for shading (Fs)'.

Solar protection:

Defines the additional reduction factor Fc for exterior or interior solar protection devices. If you click in the room view table in the Fc column on , you reach a table with possible values for the reduction factor. You can enter values between 0 and 1. You can assign the value 1 to the reduction factor Fc if no solar protection device is available. The heat flow through the window into the inside of the building in this case is not reduced.
