About uninsulated pipes

Explains the concept of uninsulated pipes in relation to the heat detection from Revit.

If the pipes of the heating pipe network in your building are not insulated, you can take the resulting heat input into account in the heat load calculation. In the Analysis tab of the Architecture discipline, you set an average system temperature, based on which the additional heat input in the individual rooms is determined for each section part. During building detection, the heat inputs per section part are determined and entered in LINEAR Building at the room level under the abbreviation Z as negative transmission heat loss.

Due to the additional heat input from uninsulated pipes, the heat load of the room is reduced and the radiators are dimensioned smaller.
