Viewport area in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk AutoCAD

Button “Single Viewport” in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk AutoCAD Single viewport

Switches to the display of the drawing area in a single viewport if the drawing area is divided into several viewports.

Button “Divided Viewports” in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk AutoCAD Divided viewports

This function allows you to divide the drawing area into several viewports. Clicking on the button opens the Viewport AutoCAD dialog, in which you can configure the divided viewports. In this dialog, you can select one of several predefined viewport combinations or create your own combination. If you like, you can save your own combinations. All settings are saved, e.g. the set view, the visual style or activated sections.

Tip: It is often helpful to divide the drawing area into several viewports, e.g. to see a top view in one window and a front view in another window at the same time. This allows you to visually check the height, for example, during the planning process.

Button “Copy viewport setting” in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk AutoCAD Copy viewport setting

Use this command to copy the settings of a viewport in the layout area and then assign the settings to another viewport in the layout area. The alignment, viewpoint and zoom setting of the source window are transferred to the target window. This command is only available in the layout view. In addition, the model area must be activated in the layout view.

Button “Rotate view” in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk AutoCAD Rotate view

Use this command to zoom in on objects with a self-defined angle of rotation. This is useful, for example, for components arranged at an oblique angle, as is sometimes found in floor plan drawings. This ensures that the zoomed component is aligned as required. This process corresponds to stretching a drawing at an oblique angle on the drawing board in order to be able to work with it again horizontally and vertically aligned.
