About the Calculation Method “DIN 1946-4 Healthcare”

Explains the concept of determining the required air volumes for rooms in non-residential buildings based on the DIN 1946-4 Healthcare calculation method.

This calculation method is used to determine the required air volumes of rooms in healthcare buildings, rooms in which medical examinations, treatments and procedures are carried out on people and rooms that are directly connected to the aforementioned rooms, e.g. through doors or corridors.

To calculate the required air volumes, various minimum volume flow rates are determined depending on the room type, which are compared with the minimum volume flow rates required by the standard. The highest volume flow rate determined is used as the required air volume for the room. Standard-compliant default values for the required parameters are stored for the individual room types, which you can adjust as you wish.
