Details on the “General” Tab in the Configuration

Information about the General tab in the LINEAR Configuration.

You are here:

LINEAR Control BoardConfiguration General

Configuration general Linear AutoCAD

At program start

Specify whether the QuickLayer dialog opens automatically when the program starts.

Layer manager

Enable the layer management here and set the layer key to be used via the button if necessary. The layer manager organizes layers according to hierarchy levels and components. When drawing, the components are automatically stored on the layers provided for this purpose. This results in the possibility of showing or hiding or plotting entire hierarchy levels or individual components from them.

Sound support

Activate the sound support if you would like to hear an acoustic signal when docking to the connector arrow of a 3D air duct.

Linetype scale factors

Set whether to optimize line type scale factors for model space or layouts. This affects the calculation of the global line type scale factor and thus the display of line types. The additional line type scale factor remains unchanged. In model range optimization, the global line type scale factor is calculated from the additional line type scale factor and the scale.

Furthermore, you can enter a value for the additional line type scale factor. The additional line type factor defines the scaling of line and dot sequences, i.e. how wide the line and gap should be displayed for a dashed line. This factor achieves that the LINEAR line types can optimally be displayed in the model space and the paper space. It is preset with a value of 0.4 and can be set to three digits after the comma.

If you, e.g., would like to display the dashing of the lines more finely, you can affect this by changing the additional line type factors. For example, if you enter a smaller additional line type factor, the line will be displayed with much finer dashes.

Region and Language

Depending on the installed version and existing licenses, you may choose from different regions here. Depending on the region, you can select different interface and output languages.

Company logo for printout

Set here which logo should appear in the headline when outputting material lists. You can also specify your custom *.bmp file or *.png file to be printed as the logo for the cover page or header in your printouts.

Note: The size of the logos on paper also depends on the printer resolution setting. For example, if you halve the printer resolution from 600 dpi to 300 dpi, the logo will be printed at twice the size.

Notes and warnings

Here you can enable warning messages that you might have disabled by selecting a corresponding checkbox. This setting is saved with the drawing.

Symbol on reference lines of labels

Defines the symbol used on the labeling reference lines and its size. Select the symbol from the drop-down list. Use the input field to specify the size of the symbol. You will receive the reference line defined here if you use the command Label components < from the command group Label components on the Labeling and Output tab.
