Creating a Label in the Label Section of the Control Board
Shows step-by-step how to create a label in the section Label components <.
Before you begin
You want to create a label in the Label components < area to use it in your drawing afterwards.
Use the Component lists dialog to conveniently and quickly create labels with already configured content for various parameters.
Requirement:
You know the name of the variable for labeling (parameter IDs) that you want to use for the labels.
If necessary, add prefixes or suffixes between the angle brackets and the vertical hyphens and insert a + sign after the parameter ID (variable name) so that the value of the variable is output in the label including the unit.

Procedure
- Click . The following query for creating the label appears:
- Select Continue with empty label. The following dialog appears:
- Enter the name for the label and click OK. Note: The names of labels must not contain equals signs (=), as otherwise the Text height setting has no effect when placing labels. The following prompt for using the label appears:
- Specify whether the label should only be available in the labeling area of the currently activated planning type or in the labeling areas of all planning types. The label is created, saved and opened in a separate drawing for editing.
- If you want to create a label with multiple variables, copy the control text of the label and paste the copied text as many times as needed. Alternatively, you can also use the LINEAR Properties to add further variables.
- Double-click on the control text to enter text editing mode.
- Replace LIN_VARIABLENAME with the name of the variable, e.g. LIN_VE_PRESSURE_LOSS or replace the complete control text with a parameter ID copied from the LINEAR Properties.
- Optional: Remove the + after the variable name to output the value of the variable in the label without unit.
- Optional: Replace Prefix with the name that should appear before the value of the variable, e.g. pressure loss: . Note: The vertical bars | in the control text serve as separators between the variable (parameter ID) and the static text and must not be removed if a prefix or suffix is used.
- Replace Suffix with an additional text component to appear after the variable’s value, or remove Suffix.
- If necessary, repeat steps 6 to 10 for additional control texts or use the LINEARProperties to add further variables.
- Optional: Insert one or more AutoCAD points, a AutoCAD circle or a AutoCAD line as docking point(s) or docking boundaries for the reference lines by entering POINT, CIRCLE or LINE in the command line and placing the corresponding element. Note: If you do not add any of the named AutoCAD elements to the label, a virtual box will be automatically created around the label, which is used as a docking boundary for reference lines. When using virtual boxes, the contents of the individual labeling variables of different lengths are automatically taken into account.
- If necessary, exit the text editing mode and save the label.

You have created a new label in the labeling section and can now use it for labeling.
