Error while using network HASP dongles

Problem

You use network HASP dongles and encounter problems.

Connection via VPN/IP circuit difference

You connect to the network via VPN or the server is in a different IP circle than your PC.

Solution

Check your software protection search settings.

  • Use case HASP-RSM dongle:
    • Open the Sentinel Admin Control Center through the LINEAR Admin (Hasp ToolsControl Center) and enter the IP address of the server to which the dongle is connected in the Remote License Search Parameters input field under ConfigurationAccess to Remote License Managers.
    • In the Sentinel Admin Control Center, deactivate the Broadcast Search for Remote Licenses (ConfigurationAccess to Remote License Managers) checkbox.
  • Use case HASP HL network dongle:
    • Contact your administrator or sales partner.

Missing port sharing in the firewall

You may not have enabled the required ports. In most cases, the port sharing can be carried out by your IT administrator.

Solution

Check your software protection search settings.

  • Use case HASP-RSM dongle:
    • Make sure that port 1947 TCP & UDP is enabled inbound and outbound on your PC and server.
  • Use case HASP HL network dongle:
    • Make sure that port 475 TCP & UDP is enabled inbound and outbound on your PC and server.
