Connectiong to an Open Pipe/Duct Connection

Shows step-by-step how you can create a connection to another pipe during the construction of a pipe.

Before you begin

You want to connect a pipe to the open connection of another pipe during construction.

Requirements:

The Draw pipe command is active.

Navigate to:

Project tabDiscipline3D planningCreate tabCommand group "Pipes"

Applies to: Heating, Cooling, Potable Water, Waste Water, Gas

Initial situation:

Procedure

  1. Start the Draw pipe < command and draw a pipe.
  2. Right-click to open the context menu while the command is active and select the open connection ... option under Connect to ....
    Note: For the command to be available, a first pipe section must be drawn, e.g. with a bend.

  3. Select an open connection on the pipe to which you want to connect.

    The following context menu opens.

  4. In the context menu, select Start....
    The program then offers you different variants for the connection in the drawing, which you can switch using the arrow keys on your keyboard.
  5. When the desired variant is displayed, do a right click or press Enter to create the connection.

Results

The connection to the open end has been established.
