Placing T-Piece on a Pipe End

Shows step by step how to attach a T-piece to an open pipe end.

Before you begin

You want to place a T-piece to an open pipe end.

Requirements:

The Draw pipe < command is active.

Navigate to:

Project tabDiscipline 3D - Model planningCreate tabCommand group PipesDraw duct <Right-click (Context menu)

Initial situation:

Procedure

  1. Do a right click while you are drawing the pipe with the Draw pipe < command and when you have placed the first pipe section with a click.
    The context menu opens.
  2. Select T-piece in the context menu.

    The Component Properties T-piece dialog opens.

  3. Make further settings for material, dimensions and insulation in the dialog.
  4. Optional: In the Dimensions area, use the respective radio button to select which end of the T-piece should be connected to the pipe (Inlet, Outlet or Branch).
    Note: The T-piece is connected to the inlet side by default.
  5. Click OK to exit the dialog.

    The T-piece is attached to the pipe end and can be aligned.

  6. Align the T-piece and press the Enter key or the left mouse button to place the T-piece with the angle determined.

Results

You have placed a T-piece at the end of the pipe according to your specifications. The drawing command then remains active and you can continue drawing the pipe section.
