Adding a T-Piece to a Pipe

Shows step-by-step how to insert a T-piece into a pipe using the T-piece in pipe command.

Before you begin

You want to insert a T-piece into a pipe.

Navigate to:

Project tabDiscipline3D planningCreate tabCommand group "Pipes"

Procedure

  1. Click the button T-piece in pipe <.
  2. Click anywhere on the pipe into which the T-piece is to be inserted.

    The Component Properties T-piece dialog opens.

  3. Use the Building type drop-down list to select a type for the T-piece.
  4. Use the Inlet, Outlet and Branch drop-down lists to set the desired nominal diameters for the connection sides.
  5. Optional: If necessary, select an insulation.
  6. Confirm the entries by clicking OK.
    The dialog closes and the T-piece is inserted into the pipe.
  7. Optional: Use the left/right arrow keys on the keyboard to determine the alignment for the branch of the T-piece in 90° steps.
  8. Determine the position of the T-piece on the pipe using the mouse or by specifying the distances from the pipe end to the branch axis or to the branch end.
    Note: If necessary, enable dynamic input in AutoCAD in order to enter distances using the input fields.

  9. Press Enter or do a left-click to place the T-piece.

Results

The T-piece has been inserted into the pipe.
