Creating a T-piece Connection on a Pipe Run

Shows step-by-step how to create a T-piece connection on a pipe run.

Before you begin

You have drawn a route and want to create a T-piece connection on some or all of the pipes.

Requirements:

You have already created a pipe run.

Navigate to:

Project tabDiscipline3D - Model planningCreate tabCommand group "Pipes"

Applies to: Heating/Cooling, Potable Water, Waste Water, Ventilation, Electrical, Fire Protection, Roof Drainage

Procedure

  1. Click on the Pipe route < button.
  2. Right-click on the drawing area to open the context menu for the command.

  3. Select the option T-piece connection ....
  4. Use the window selection to select the pipes of the pipe route where you want to create a T-piece connection.

  5. Determine the position of the T-piece connection by clicking on the pipe route or by entering the distance in the command line and confirm with Enter.

  6. Determine the position of the T-piece connection by clicking on the pipe route or by entering the distance in the command line.

    A context menu opens to select the type of bypass.

  7. Select Bypass below or Bypass top in the context menu.

Results

The T-pieces have been connected to the pipes of the pipe route and any necessary pipe offsets were created on the selected pipes.
