Inserting Component Symbols

Shows step-by-step how to insert component symbols from the symbol library into your drawing.

Before you begin

You want to insert component symbols into your drawing or directly into your pipe/duct network.

Navigate to:

Project tabDiscipline2D / 3D - Floor plan // 2D - Scheme planningCreate tabSymbols / Components command group

Procedure

  1. Optional: Select a construction height, a reference edge and an offset if you are working in the planning type 3D - Floor planning.
  2. Optional: Open the Symbol functions area and change the options for inserting symbols under Symbol functions if necessary.
  3. Open the Symbols ... area using the triangle symbol if necessary.
  4. Use the drop-down list to select the symbol group from which you want to insert a component.
  5. In the symbol group, click on the component symbol that you want to insert.
    The component symbol is hanging on the crosshairs.
  6. Optional: If necessary, select an alternative insertion point by pressing the left or right arrow keys on the keyboard.
  7. Click to place the component symbol on the pipe or duct or freely on the drawing area.
  8. Use the crosshairs to determine the alignment of the component symbol and click to place it.

Results

The component symbol has been inserted into your drawing or directly into your pipe/duct network.
