Inserting Components Into Pipe/Duct During Drawing

Shows step-by-step how to insert components into the course of a pipe or duct during the drawing process and then continue drawing directly on the component.

Before you begin

You want to insert components into the course of a pipe or duct during the drawing process and then continue drawing.

Requirements:

The Draw pipe < or Draw duct < drawing command is active.

Note:

The process is described using the example of a double branch in a ventilation duct.

Navigate to:

Procedure

  1. Select a first section of the duct or pipe up to the position where you want to insert a component.
  2. Do a right click.

    The context menu opens.

  3. In the context menu, select the component to be inserted into the course of the duct, e.g. a double branch.

    The corresponding component dialog opens, e.g. Double Branch.

  4. If necessary, change the specified dimensions and material settings.
  5. Click OK to confirm the entries.

    The dialog closes and the component is attached to the last section of the duct or pipe drawn.

  6. Determine the alignment of the component by pointing in the direction with the mouse pointer.
  7. Click to place the component.

Results

The component has been placed and you can continue directly with drawing the air duct or pipe.
