Configuring and Placing a Central Ventilation Unit

Shows step-by-step how to configure a central ventilation unit and place it in your drawing.

Before you begin

You want to configure a central ventilation unit for your ventilation system and add it to your drawing.

Navigate to:

Project tab ➤ Discipline Ventilation ➤ 3D - Model planning ➤ Create tab ➤ Command group Components

Procedure

  1. Define the construction height, reference edge and offset in the LINEAR Control Board.
  2. Click on Draw central device <.

    The Device configuration dialog opens.

  3. Define the dimensions for the upper and lower setup of the central device in the Width x Height and Pedestal height fields on the right-hand side of the dialog.
    A gray line representing the lower limit of the lower structure is displayed in the preview window.
  4. Right-click above the gray line in the preview window to add a component for the lower setup.

    A context menu for adding and editing components opens.

  5. In the context menu, select New component....

    The dialog Component opens.

  6. Select the component to be inserted under Type and a variant of the component via the drop-down list Building type.
  7. Enter the dimensions for the installation length and, if applicable, for disturbance spaces.
  8. Click in the fields of the table to define the connections for the component.
  9. Click OK to close the dialog and insert the component into the structure of the central device.
    Note: To subsequently edit individual components, you can double-click on the respective component in the preview window.
  10. Repeat steps 4 to 9 to add further components to complete the central device.
    Note: To insert components for the upper structure, right-click above the components of the lower structure in the preview window. You can change the arrangement of the components using drag and drop.
  11. Optional: Click on Save to save the configuration of your central device.
  12. Click on Draw < to insert the central device into your drawing.
    The dialog closes and the central device hangs on the mouse pointer.
  13. Click to place the central device in your drawing and click a second time to determine the orientation.

Results

You have configured the central device for your ventilation system and inserted it into the drawing and can now connect it.
