Connecting 3D Pipes/3D Ducts Automatically

Shows step-by-step how to automatically connect pipes, ducts and also components with pipes, ducts or other components using the Connect automatically < command.

Before you begin

You want to automatically connect components or pipes in a 3D pipe network to a pipe.

Navigate to:

Project tabDiscipline3D - Floor planning // 3D - Model planningCreate tabCommand group Pipes (and Fittings)

Applies to: Heating/ Cooling, Potable Water, Waste Water, Ventilation, Gas, Fire Protection

Initial situation:

Procedure

  1. Click on the Connect automatically < (3D - Model planning) or Connect pipes < (3D - Floor planning) button.
  2. Click on the open connection of the first component, pipe or duct, e.g. on a bend.
  3. Click on the open connection of the second component, pipe or duct, e.g. at a pipe end.

    The following context menu then opens:

  4. In the context menu, click on Start....

    The program displays the first possible variant for the connection in the drawing.

  5. Use the right or left arrow keys to display further variants in the drawing.
    Note: In the command line, you can see how many variants are available for selection and which variant is currently displayed.
  6. When a suitable variant is displayed, press Enter to establish the connection.

Results

The connection has been established.
