Drawing a 3D Air Duct

Shows step-by-step how to draw a 3D air duct.

Before you begin

You want to draw a 3D air duct.

Navigate to:

Project tabDiscipline Ventilation3D - Model planningCreate tabCommand group Pipes

Applies to: Ventilation

Procedure

  1. On the Create tab, select a construction height, a reference edge and an offset.
  2. Under Medium, select a medium, e.g. Exhaust air.
  3. Click on the Draw duct < button.
  4. Click to define the starting point for the duct in your drawing.

    When you insert an air duct into your drawing for the first time, the Duct dialog opens.

  5. In the dialog, select which duct shape you would like to draw on the tabs Rectangular, Oval or Round tabs.
  6. Enter all the information on dimensions, material, insulation and connectors on the corresponding tab and change the reference edge in the construction direction if necessary.
  7. Click OK to confirm the information in the dialog.
    The dialog closes and you can start drawing.
  8. Use the mouse pointer to indicate the direction of the duct to be constructed and click to define the next point for the course.
    Note: Bends are drawn automatically when the direction is changed.
  9. End the drawing process by pressing Enter or ESC.

Results

You have drawn a 3D air duct.
