Rigid connection <

This command allows you to connect symbols (components) to the nearest pipe. The program creates a right-angled connection. There is no need to select the medium (pipe systems), provided that the symbol contains the appropriate attributes. If the object is to be connected to other pipes, e.g. upwards or downwards or laterally to a pipe run, you can change the connection after the first click by clicking again on the desired pipe... The connection is established directly.

If a symbol (component) is to be connected as the last object, or if certain media are not to be connected, you can remove superfluous pipes with a single click in this command.

The Rigid connection command can also be used to connect several objects at the same time. You can select the objects individually or with the selection frame. To connect all objects at once, first select all objects and then start the Rigid connection command. If you want to change the connections afterwards, start the command again, select the object to be changed and then the alternative pipes.

Automatic Rigid connection works in schematic, floor plan and 3D drawings. For the command you can additionally select the options Vertical offset, to the back or Height offset. If the desired situation cannot be solved with Rigid connection <, use the command Connect manually <, where you can select the pipes individually.

Offset symbol: By activating the Offset symbol option, the offsets can be provided with offset symbols so that they are also visible in the top view.

Node: Activation of the Node option marks the connection point of the connecting pipe to the existing pipe with a node.

Loop in: The loop in option connects the objects in-line at the cold and hot water pipes. The option can be used only with sanitary pipes.

Rigid connection < (Roof drainage discipline)

The Rigid connection < command in the Roof drainage discipline has almost the same functions as in the other disciplines. The difference in these cases is that the components are connected to a manifold with a chamfer.

When connecting components with Rigid connection <, the mouse position when selecting the component to be connected determines the direction in which the chamfer is drawn. If, for example, a washbasin or a roof drain is selected on the left-hand side when connecting, the chamfer is also created in this direction.

In case the chamfer was not constructed in the desired direction, you can also change the direction of the chamfer by clicking on the manifold in the other direction as long as the command is still active. Otherwise, start the command again, select the component and then redefine the direction.

When connecting components with Connect manually <, the mouse position on the manifold determines the construction direction of the chamfer. If you click on the manifold to the left of the component, the chamfer on the manifold is also created in this direction.

The Tilt branch option is only available for the Rigid connection < command in the Roof drainage discipline. If this option is selected, only two instead of three 45° bends are used for the connection.
