Copy layer content

Shows step-by-step how to copy the contents of a source layer to a target layer.

Before you begin

You want to copy the contents of a source layer to a target layer.

Note: With this command you can, for example, very easily copy identical pipes from one storey layer to another.

Navigate to:

Tools tabCommand group Tools

Applies to all disciplines.

Procedure

  1. Click on Copy layer content <.
  2. Select an object that is located on the source layer.
  3. Optional: If you want to use a new layer as the target layer, right-click, enter the name for the new layer in the command line and confirm your entry.
    The new layer is created and the copied contents of the source layer are added to the target layer.
  4. Select an object that is located on the target layer.
    Tip: As an alternative to selecting a target layer object, you can also right-click, enter the name of an existing target layer in the command line and confirm your entry.
    The copied contents of the source layer are added to the target layer.

Results

You have copied contents of the source layer to a target layer.
