About Standard Elements of the User Interface
Explains the concept of standard elements of the user interface.
You will find the same types of buttons with their functional principles again and again using the software. The general functions are explained here:

Button type | Function |
---|---|
A button with three dots behind the text opens a dialog or another program like LINEAR Building. | |
A button with three dots opens either a dialog or a context menu that you can use to open a dialog, among other things. | |
The arrow on the right edge of a button expands or collapses the associated area. | |
A button with an opening angle bracket behind the text performs an action in the drawing area. Any input required from the user is displayed in the command line. Usually, you can select the components you want to use before performing the action. | |
A button with an opening angle bracket performs an action in the drawing area. | |
Enables the context-sensitive help, which is indicated by the question mark that hangs on the cursor after clicking on the button. A subsequent click on a UI element opens the corresponding help page. F1 also opens the corresponding page of the LINEAR help pages. |
