Reset Item Numbers of Components

Shows step-by-step how you can reset component item numbers in various ways.

Before you begin

You want to reset the item numbers of components.

Requirement:

Item numbers are assigned to the components.

Navigate to:

Project tab ➤ Discipline ➤ Planning type 3D - Model planning ➤ “Labeling and Output” tab ➤ Command group “Label components”

Applies to: Heating, Potable Water, Waste Water, Cooling, Ventilation, Gas, Electricity and Fire protection.

Command group “Label Components” in the LINEAR Solutions for Autodesk AutoCAD

Procedure

Click Assign item numbers ....

The Assign item numbers dialog opens.
Click on further options....
The following context menu opens:
Select the desired option for resetting.
- The option Reset all with prefix “...” offers the prefix that is selected in the Prefix drop-down list (e.g. system abbreviation) in the Main numbers area. If necessary, adjust the selection in the drop-down list and open the menu again to reset item numbers with other prefixes.
- With the Reset entire label group “...” option, the label group offered depends on the selected item list in the Group (number range) area. If necessary, adjust the selection and open the menu again to reset the item numbers of another label group.
- With the Reset with object selection option, you can remove item numbers by selecting objects in the drawing.
With the Reset with object selection option, the Assign item number dialog is hidden in order to select the objects in the drawing.
Close the dialog if you have selected the option Reset all with prefix “...” or Reset entire label group “...” to reset the numbers.
Select the objects in the drawing whose item numbers you want to remove if you are using the Reset with object selection option.

Note: You can use the modes Single, Path and Network for selection. To do this, enter S, P or N in the command line, confirm your entry and follow the instructions in the command line.
End the selection of objects by clicking on an empty area of the drawing or by pressing the ESC key if you are using the Reset with object selection option.
Close the Assign item numbers dialog.

Results

You have reset the item numbers of components according to the selected option.
