About the docking options for labeling reference lines

Explains the concept of different docking options for reference lines when creating and customizing labels.

When creating or customizing labels, you can use various elements to dock the reference lines to when placing the label. You have the following options:

  1. Draw one or more AutoCAD points as docking points.
  2. Use a AutoCAD circle as a docking boundary.
  3. Use a AutoCAD Line as a docking boundary.
  4. Using a AutoCAD line as a docking boundary.
  5. Use a virtual box that was automatically created by the program.

The order of the list also corresponds to the prioritization of the various elements when placing labels with reference lines. For example, if a label contains a AutoCAD circle and a AutoCAD line, the circle is used as the docking limit as it has a higher priority. If AutoCAD points were added to this label, the points would be used. Virtual boxes are created automatically if a label does not contain any AutoCAD points, AutoCAD circles or AutoCAD lines.

Tip: When using virtual boxes, the contents of the individual labeling variables of different lengths are automatically taken into account.
