Create Label from Component Lists

Shows step-by-step how to create labels in the component list dialog, which are then available in the Label components < dialog.

Before you begin

You want to create your own label from a component list to use it afterwards in Label components <.

Note: To add parameters from the calculation to the label, you must first perform and confirm a calculation. Only then will these parameters be available to you in the component lists.

Navigate to:

Labeling and Output tab ➤ Export ➤ Component lists ...

or

“Labeling and Output” tab ➤ Command group “Label drawing” ➤ Component Lists ...

Procedure

  1. In the Component types area, expand the component class group for which you want to create a label.
  2. Select the checkbox of the component class for which you want to create the label.
    If necessary, use the search function of the section to quickly find component classes.
    All parameters of the selected component class are displayed in various groups in the Parameters area.
  3. In the the section Parameters, select the parameters that you want the label to contain.
    If necessary, use the search function of the section to find parameters quickly.
    Note: You can use the commands of the column context menus in the component list to make changes to the order and the names of the labeling parameters. In addition, you can use the command New Parameters... to create your own parameters and add them to your label.
  4. Click Create label.
    The dialog Name of label opens.
  5. Enter the name for the label and confirm with OK.
    The following prompt for using the label appears:

  6. Select whether the label should only be available in the current discipline or in all disciplines.
    The label is created, saved and opened on a separate tab.
  7. If necessary, adjust the layout of the label.
  8. If required, insert one or more AutoCAD points, a AutoCAD circle or a AutoCAD line as docking point(s) or docking boundaries for the reference lines by entering POINT, CIRCLE or LINE in the command line and placing the corresponding element.
    Note: If you do not add any of the named AutoCAD elements to the label, a virtual box will be automatically created around the label, which is used as a docking boundary for reference lines. When using virtual boxes, the contents of the individual labeling variables of different lengths are automatically taken into account.
  9. Save the labeler once again.

Results

You have created a label.

What to do next

Select the newly created label in the corresponding labeling area and click Label components to place the newly created label afterwards.
