Edit Component List Compatible Tables from Drawings

Shows step-by-step how to edit component list-compatible tables from drawings.

Before you begin

You want to edit a component list-compatible table from a drawing.

Requirements:

  • The table to be adapted was either created with the Component lists or it has a format that is compatible for editing with the Component lists (e.g. item lists of assembly plans).
  • The current drawing contains the table you want to edit.

Navigate to:

Project tab ➤ Discipline ➤ Planning type ➤ “Labeling and output” tab ➤ Export ➤ Component lists ...

or

Project tab ➤ Discipline ➤ Planning type ➤ “Labeling and output” tab ➤ Label components ➤ Component lists ...

Applies to all disciplines.

Procedure

  1. Click Get Table < and select the table to be adjusted in the drawing.

    The configuration of the table is transferred to the Component lists.

  2. Edit the table by, for example, adjusting values, sorting, adding or removing columns or adjusting the column sequence.
  3. Depending on which adjustments you have made, you will need to use different commands to transfer the changes.
    • Click on Update table < if you have only made changes to the data rows by adjusting values or adding further component classes.
      Note: Only the cells below the column headings are updated in the table of the drawing. If, for example, you have named the column headings of the table in the drawing differently from the column headings in the Component lists, your own designations are retained.
    • Click on Change table if you have changed the structure of the table, for example by removing or adding columns.
      Note: The table will be completely revised. If manual adjustments were previously made in the table, such as column headings being changed, these adjustments are lost.
    The Component lists are hidden for selecting the table in the drawing.
  4. Select the table in the drawing to which you want to transfer the edited configuration.
    The configuration is transferred to the selected table and the Component lists are displayed again.
  5. Close the Component lists by clicking on Exit.

Results

The table in the drawing contains the desired adjustments.
