The Feature Pack LINEAR Solutions V24.3 is now available in the LINEAR Installation Center and comes with many new improvements and features.
We present some of the new features in more detail here. As always, we have clearly documented all innovations in our What's new section on our website.
The new Desktop Electrical for Autodesk Revit
Realized customer request from the LINEAR Idea Channel
Discover the Desktop Electrical, our latest extension for Autodesk Revit, developed specifically for electrical engineering. This solution integrates the versatile functions of our Desktop family and offers specific tools for the efficient design of electrical installations.
With Desktop Electrical, the positioning of cable routes, switches, sockets and other elements becomes child's play. Use our advanced configurators for switch systems and complete line installations to significantly reduce your design time. Additional details on the supplied configurators can also be found in the What's New.
In addition to the special functions for the electrical construction, all the other benefits of the Desktop family are also available to you and support you from the early design stages through to construction design. Benefit from proven workflows such as pipeline corridor concept, void planning, classification as well as construction planning. With the LINEAR collision check function, which is also included, you can easily identify all collisions in your electrical design. Specific checks at discipline or system level are also possible. Collisions with pipes from other disciplines can be resolved by simply jumping the cable trays. For collisions with architectural elements, the void planning offers seamless and interactive coordination of the necessary breakthroughs with structural engineers and architects. The Desktop Electrical is complemented by functions such as the popular view management, section view creation and the workflow for reports and tasks.
Discover how the Desktop Electrical can make your electrical design more efficient, precise and simple, while benefiting from the comprehensive advantages of the LINEAR Desktop family.
Information levels for precise data management in BIM projects
The introduction of element classes and property sets has already enabled structured management and checking of data in the model. With the latest extension - the information levels - we go one step further and offer the option of organizing information in levels and thus mapping Employer's Information Requirements – (EIR), for example.
Assigning specific information levels for each attribute via element classes and property sets ensures that the information content of each project phase corresponds exactly to the predefined criteria. This method makes it possible to implement the EIR specifications at the start of the project and to update them continuously in accordance with further requirements from the BIM Execution Plan (BEP). You can define the information levels yourself and assign them to the corresponding Level of Information Need (LOIN).
This allows you to control the parameters displayed within the LINEAR properties. For example, you could define the information levels as "preliminary design" with a LOIN of 100, "design" with a LOIN of 200 and "execution" with a LOIN of 400 and thus only see the values that are required in the respective phase at any time. You can easily add any deviations from the required information and assigned LOIN.
Full control during synchronization between LINEAR Building and AutoCAD
What was previously only possible in combination with Autodesk Revit is now also available in combination with AutoCAD. Discover the improved functions for seamless synchronization between LINEAR Building and AutoCAD. With the introduction of the new detailed configuration options, you can now precisely define which parameters should be transferred between the platforms. The enhanced configuration dialog allows you to individually determine which parameters should be imported, exported or both imported and exported. This flexibility allows you to tailor the configuration to the specific needs of your project. You can create, save and use different configurations as required, which increases efficiency and precision in planning. This is possible for both heating load and cooling load calculations, as well as for the domestic ventilation concept.
The new synchronization functions between LINEAR Building and AutoCAD provide you with a powerful tool that optimizes information management and consistency across your projects. Data exchange becomes controllable and improves work in the various phases of project development.
Integration of topography into the IFC-Link workflow for improved building detection
Use the detailed geometric information of the topography from your linked IFC architecture model to achieve an even more precise building survey. With the introduction of the new "Ground level from topography" option, we are improving the process of analyzing the exact course of the terrain along the building envelope.
Components in contact with the ground are identified and classified in LINEAR Building according to their position in relation to the ground - either as "adjoining to ground" or "adjoining to exterior". This means that the thermal properties of the components in the model are taken into account even more correctly.
