Error While Using Local Softlocks

Problem

You use local softlocks and encounter problems.

Changed hardware

(Defective) hardware has been replaced on your PC. In such cases, softlocks become invalid as they are matched to the hardware configuration of your PC.

Solution

  • Request a new softlock via licensing@linear.de. Briefly describe the circumstances in the request e-mail and attach a fingerprint (.c2V license file) of the current hardware configuration to the e-mail.

PC restore via backup/PC cloned

Your PC has been backed up or cloned. In such cases, softlocks become invalid.

Softlock is installed in a virtual machine

Softlock installations within virtual machines are not supported.

Softlock is installed on an Apple computer with Bootcamp

Installations of softlocks within Bootcamp under Windows on an Apple machine are not supported.

Solution

  • Switch to a native Windows installation, or
  • contact your sales partner.
