The Building Detection in LINEAR Building Takes a Long Time

Problem

You prepared your model for handover to LINEAR Building and during building detection you find out that it takes a long time.

Cause: High number of enveloping surfaces bounding spaces

During the building detection process, each enveloping surface bounding the space is examined for its thermal properties. If a building/space contains a high number of space bounding enveloping surfaces, the duration of the building detection will be extended accordingly.

Solution

  • Navigate to LINEAR tab ➤ Productivity ➤ Model diagnosis in Revit and run the Check enveloping surfaces check routine in the Areas and spaces section.
  • Check the issues in the Issues and Tasks tab and follow the solutions proposed there.
